Sunday the 22nd Feb was Rnd 3 of the AKA winter series. With track condition dry and near perfect for this time of year in the UK grip levels would be good and cars would finish clean which is a bonus on a dirt track in winter.

In truggy Richard Baker would get some great runs to put his XT8 on pole and take TQ for the meeting.

The buggy qualifying would be close with local racers Simon Yeung and Adrian Eaton going straight into the A main, Barkley Abernethy who made the trip from Ireland this weekend also rewarded by putting his XB808 into the A main. Jason Dixon just missing the main started 2nd on the grid of the B and Bren Ralls with a qualifying session to forget had it all to do from the back of the grid in the B.
In truggys Richard would capitalize from his pole to build up a comfortable lead, a cut mid race would see this hard work gone and after he got back on track would be nearly a lap down. The pace of Richards XT8 over Marcus would bring it down to the last lap with Richard clawing his way back to 2nd narrowly miss out on the win by a few seconds.
In Buggys and the B Jason would take the early lead with Bren being patient from the back with this paying off as he took the lead by lap 3 and never looked back, at the end of the 20 minutes built up a 2 lap lead. With XRAY Mirage drivers Jason Dixon and Richard Goozee taking the other two bump up spots.

For the A Main 6 XRAYs would be in the pack and with the drop of the flag racing would again commence. Unfortunately Jason would retire early with a battery and switch problem but the remainder of the Xrays were strong. Bren from the back of the pack was fast but lost allot of time and track space to Mike Craddock and Reece Ashby who took advantage of there grid position.
At the 7 minute point Bren broke clear of the pack and into 3rd as most pittied for fuel, he took advantage of his OS / Odonnell engine fuel package & ten minute fuel stops to set about making up the 25+ seconds on the lead two. At this point Barkley Simon Adrian and Richard were all in good shape and position, a flame out for Barkley at about 15 minutes would drop him down the pack but he would restart, the rest of the guys putting in a good show for Team XRAY.
Bren would put in the fastest laps of the race to close the gap to 1 second on Mike to finish 2nd. Next time Mike :)
